At Calibre Furniture, we take pride in delivering premium products with care and efficiency. To ensure your order arrives smoothly and without delay, it’s essential to prepare your space and access points in advance. Whether you're a designer, retailer, or trade client, following these steps will help you and your customer avoid costly delays or delivery issues.
1. Select the right size items
Each product on our website includes full dimensions — width, depth, and height — accounting for any overhangs, arms, or curved features.
We recommend:
- Mapping out product footprints using tape or cardboard.
- Allowing adequate clearance for movement around the item.
- Ensuring the item suits the layout of the intended space.
2. Confirm access measurements
Please assess access paths before ordering. Ensure all delivery pathways are wide and high enough to accommodate the furniture.
Measure:
- Doorways: Internal clearance, trim-to-trim door opening widths.
- Hallways: Width and ceiling height, including corners taking into account any twists or turns.
- Lifts: Door opening, internal depth and height.
[ Compare these to the product’s largest dimension ]
3. Check site conditions
During checkout or order confirmation, please flag any site-specific access requirements such as:
- Loading dock restrictions or timed access.
- Gated entry or narrow driveways.
- Multi-storey sites without lift access.
- Construction zones or incomplete flooring/walls.
This helps us coordinate with delivery partners effectively and avoid failed attempts.
4. Choose the right delivery option
Calibre Furniture offers two service levels:
- Standard Delivery: To ground floor or designated receiving area only
- Delivery & Installation: Available on request and includes unboxing, placement, and rubbish removal. This must be organised prior to the delivery date.
[ Please ensure the receiving team or client is aware of the delivery scope. ]
5. On delivery day
To help us keep your delivery on schedule:
- Ensure someone is available on-site to receive and guide the driver.
- Standard delivery is typically completed by one person, [assistance may be required] to carry goods from the truck to the delivery location.
- Protect floors and walls where needed.
- Keep the access path clear, including rugs, décor, and fittings.
- Secure pets and children in another area.
Note: Our contractors cannot disassemble, move existing furniture, remove doors, or install electrical or wall-mounted items. Please use a licensed contractor if these services are required.
